Yes it is a TV show. But I have to say if it wasn't for my landlady Della Warren watching the Chosen her and I won't be reading the Bible. She reads it to me I remember the scriptures I used to be a pastor. I have to use a magnifying glass to read and write

She died because she's a made-up character in a made-up relationship with one of the Apostles of Christ. It was rather predictable. I wish the filmakers would reserve embellished story points like that for only made-up characters. Jesus had the safety of his followers as a high priority; he wouldn't incite violence or provoke it. The scriptures even tell us he was mild-tempered rather then temperamental; they even prophecy about him not making a noisy scene in public. Facts like that should have guided the filmakers. The scriptures tell us it was Jesus' opposers who were unhinged and narcissistic and fanatical and violent, but that scene and the scene from maybe the following episode where Jesus goes to the temple and nearly gets stoned depict a reckless character that gets his followers hurt, someone who relentlessly provokes the fanatical religious leaders rather than the logical, mild-tempered person the Bible describes, so I do resent those instances in this show that kind of diverge from what the Bible teaches.

No where in the Bible does Jesus claim to be God. He is the son of God as it says in the Bible.

Honestly, after watching the last episode about Lazarus and watching, Thomas become very bitter over an event that’s never recorded in the Bible about his girlfriend Rayma that he was supposed to marry and then being accidentally killed and all of that it’s hard for me to accept this show anymore Because they’re literally basing the entire characters and the way that Jesus interacts with them off of events that for all we know never ever happened. So to me it’s like another gospel other than the one that was preached that we have in the word of God itself. Also, most if not all of the actors are not Christians. In fact, the guy that plays Matthew is a Hindu and the guy that plays Jesus is a Catholic who believes that people should pray the rosary and believes in all of the sacraments and praying to all the different saints because I did a background check on him. Also the leader of the story, Dallas Jenkins quoted in an interview that all of his Mormon friends believe in the same Jesus as he does, and that there should not be any divisions Between him and them. Also, Nicodemus in the show believes in some ancient Persian religion that does not acknowledge Jesus Christ as the Lord God, so to me a bunch of people that have these open doors of false gods and beliefs that are trying to depict the actual gospel from a guy who thinks that the same Jesus that Mormons believe in is the same Jesus, he also believes in as well is not right in the first place and it’s making tons of money now and they are basically changing the story completely from the actual gospels just to make the show good and get the world to love it so with that said, I am absolutely done watching this show and I need to get the voice of God and his actual countenance from him directly on my quiet times and not let this or any other show or representation take the place of that.

I taught my children that the Bible IS the testament of The Christ. The names "old" and "New" were added much later - something forbidden to do, but we did. I explained the law this way. OK! I will now set up the Ten Commandments of cleaning your room. It's a good list, but one day there is a dead frog on the floor. Oops! Not listed on my chart! It goes untouched , until I add the 11th command about dead frogs. I can amend the list forever... BUT when you mature and embrace my love for my family, THEN you will not need the law, you will feel, "I want to please my father, who loves me". Don't concern yourself with God's will for you until you are abler to really embrace His love ... THEN you may focus on other goals.

I have a major issue with the writers' choice here. Obviously, most people know that Ramah and the story of Eden's miscarriage are NOT in the Bible. They were invented by the writers of The Chosen. Jesus taught his true followers to pray for 'God's Kingdom to come and will to be done ON EARTH as it is in Heaven'. The Apostles all wrote about the future coming of God's Kingdom in the NT for decades after Jesus was killed and resurrected by his God and Father. The #1 thing that Jesus spoke of the most when he was on Earth was the coming Kingdom of God. He taught us all to pray for that Kingdom to come and all of the things that he did during his ministry were examples of what he will do for all of mankind when God establishes His Kingdom "on Earth as it is in Heaven". If one reads the Bible, they can plainly see that Jesus never once neglected to heal or resurrect anyone with faith. If James The Less were not just short of stature and actually had an affliction, Jesus would have healed him. The Bible does not say James The Less had an affliction. That is made up by the writers of The Chosen. In the Bible account, Jesus never once neglected to heal or resurrect anyone with faith. If there were such a person as Ramah, Jesus would have resurrected her. If Peter's wife were pregnant, Jesus would not have allowed her to miscarry. But none of those things are in the Bible. In the Bible account, Jesus never once neglected to heal or resurrect anyone with faith; why? Because he was not only sent to proclaim the good news of his God and Father's intention to restore mankind to God's original purpose of perfect life in Eden, Jesus was also demonstrating exactly how he would rule over that Kingdom. When he fed the 5,000 with 2 fish, he was showing how there would be no hunger, food shortages or starvation in God's Kingdom when it is established "on Earth as it is in Heaven". When he stopped the violent storm that was going to kill the Apostles in the boat, he was showing how there would not be any more weather disasters in God's Kingdom when it is established "on Earth as it is in Heaven". When he healed everyone he met who had faith, he was showing that everyone would be perfectly healthy in God's Kingdom when it is established "on Earth as it is in Heaven". When he resurrected the dead, he was showing how all of our dead loved ones would be resurrected in God's Kingdom when it is established "on Earth as it is in Heaven". All the make-believe stuff about Thomas being betrothed to a woman named Ramah and James The Less being crippled and Eden having a miscarriage is NOT IN THE BIBLE. So, Thomas (and earlier in the series Peter) throwing a fit is not in the Bible either. Neither is there anything about James The Less having any affliction whatsoever. All those inventions of the writers of The Chosen make Jesus look inadequate to rule God's Kingdom. The reality is that, in the Bible Jesus proved and demonstrated that he, as the appointed King of God's Kingdom, is going to fix everything, just as he did in the Bible account. In the Bible account, Jesus never once neglected to heal or resurrect anyone with faith aside from John the baptizer, who was martyred

don't know where else too say this. The script is very important but the words are VERY difficult to understand. Even the closed captioning AI cannot decipher it. Abraham told by God to sacrifice his son is truly the hardest thing to explain to your children. How many kids have asked their father or mother if God commanded such a sacrifice, would you do that to me? I think at this point, most parents would be hard pressed to answer that with conviction.

Let's keep this simple. Where in the Bible do you see Jesus say "no" to healing someone? Nowhere. Because it isn't there. "it is not her time" was an American church response. We pray for someone, but they don't get healed. We reason that we surely had the faith, so it was trumped by God's will. Maybe if Jesus said "it was her time" it would've made more sense. The problem with this deviation from the story (to acknowledge the process of grief and move a few other characters along), is that it introduces a personality trait of Jesus we do not ever seen in the Bible. The truth of Christ's Story is full of drama, and doesn't need us to conjure it. Just my opinion.

Hi Brandon! I believe your explanation at @5:43 is incorrect. Let me explain why. In those times, the large stone was at the main entrance of the tomb. After the main entrance of the tomb, there was a resting stone for the body, where the deceased would be placed for a period of one year until only the bones remained. The bones were then collected and placed in an ossuary, and the ossuary was put in the small-sized tomb, as shown in your picture.

You have really messed me up! Before last night, I have not watched, or even had interest in The Chosen. I only watched less than half of this video and had to check it out. Now I'll never get to bed on time again. I just finished 1:6. Good night. Oh, and thanks for filling in the blanks.
